Post Concussive Program
The Post Concussive Program is a specialty service for those suffering from Post Concussive Syndrome or from a traumatic brain injury. Our multidisciplinary program consists of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, social work, and neuropsychology services. Our physical therapists are trained to assess and treat vestibular impairments, balance and gait deficits, interlimb coordination deficiencies, and aerobic and strength impairments that coincide with post concussive syndrome.
The occupational therapy staff are leading experts in the assessment and treatment of the lasting visual impairments associated with Post Concussion Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injury. If you have been diagnosed visual impairments such as ocular motor dysfunction, hemianopsia (visual field cut), visual motor disorder, visual inattention or neglect, or visual perception impairments Sage’s occupational therapists can provide you with the training and tools needed to overcome these challenges. Our vision program incorporates the use of the Bioness Integrative Therapy System (BITs®) technology to aid in the rehabilitative process.
Our speech therapists are highly trained in cognitive therapy and both the assessment and treatment of deficits related to executive functioning, memory, attention, processing speed. An individualized treatment approach is utilized as they provide both restorative and compensatory training.
Our licensed clinical social worker provides both individual and group counseling sessions to overcome life changing circumstances associated with post concussive syndrome and traumatic brain injury. An evidence-based treatment approach is incorporated in the sessions to help with grief, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and other mental health related challenges.
Our staff neuropsychologist works with our multidisciplinary team to complete a clinical evaluation that identifies current level of cognitive and behavioral functioning that could impact recovery.
