LSVT BIG® & LSVT LOUD® SPECIALISTS

The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment, also known as LSVT, is an evidence-based treatment protocol designed to target the effects of Parkinson’s disease such as the smaller, slower movements and lower volume of speech.

Research indicates that exercise prescriptions designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease can slow the rate of progression of the disease. Sage Outpatient provides LSVT BIG® and LSVT LOUD® through certified physical, occupational, and speech therapists.

Our therapists have been certified through LSVT Global, Inc. to provide treatment for individuals with movement disorders related to Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders using the LSVT BIG® and LSVT LOUD® protocol.

ABOUT OUR

LSVT PARKINSON’S PROGRAM

What is LSVT BIG®?

The LSVT BIG® program is an intensive amplitude-based exercise program focused on bigger motor movements. A certified physical and/or occupational therapist will deliver the LSVT BIG® program to help individuals utilize high effort exercise to normalize movement. Research has shown that completion of the program can improve walking speed, step length, balance, trunk rotation, and quality of life.

What is LSVT LOUD®?

A certified speech therapist delivers the LSVT LOUD® program to improve both voice and speech of individuals by focusing on the underlying physical pathology utilizing an effective and concise cuing system.

LSVT LOUD® addresses vocal amplitude, breath support, pitch range and vocal quality in an intensive program designed to incorporate their new “LOUD” voice in their everyday environment.

The LSVT LOUD® program focuses on amplitude-based training for the voice.

How It Works

LSVT BIG® and LSVT LOUD® treatment includes 16 individual one-hour sessions, four consecutive days, for a total of four weeks.

Individuals are required to perform daily homework and carryover exercises in order to maximize the full potential of the program.
